*Speculative Project*
Transforming an unused space of the USC campus into a study cafe that functions as a multipurpose room, for students and other community members to relax and get some work done.
The Problem
For a while, the communities of USC have been finding themselves roaming around the campus to find the perfect study spot— however, there is no perfect spot.
On-campus cafes often have blasting music and busy footsteps, and libraries are quite intimidating and have a no-food or no-talking policy, making it difficult for the students to stay for a long time.
Roski Station
To provide an area of rest, just like a vehicle arrives at a 'station' for a pause during its journey. In this study cafe, students will be able to be productive at their own pace, and take breaks when necessary. The cafe will also incorporate interactive elements such as student-made artworks, promoting community engagement and opportunities.
